Major Maintenance

Major maintenance resets the bike to the best condition, guaranteeing your riding experience and safety. Lifespan of the bike can be maximized if major maintenance is conducted adequately.

When to have major maintenance

Major maintenance shall be planned every year or at least every 3000 km mileage, or one of the following events occur:

• After a crash, fall or accident
• After a long idle period, especially if exposed to weather
• After an intense long-distance tour
• Before an important trip
• When you find the bike not working well

Who shall conduct major maintenance?

We always recommend you to take Tenways electric bicycle to our authorized workshop. If there is unfortunately no authorized workshop near you, you can take it to a professional e-bike workshop. But if this is the case, please remind the technician to refer to Tenways official documentation for guidance.

You can still do (part of) major maintenance yourself, but we strongly recommend you only do mechanical work and do not try to open any electronic parts, even though you are technically skilled. This is because Tenways bikes have dedicated sophisticated electronics that must be maintained by trained personnel with proper spare parts. Please be advised that unauthorized maintenance on the electronics may void the official warranty.
